50 | 50: Half the Caffeine
Colombia & Nicaragua
Muscovado ~ cocoa ~ orange zest
A delicious coffee with less of the caffeine for those of you that don’t want to go all the way. Notes of praline, cocoa and orange.
The farm
A brand new creation of ours - 50% of the caffeine. With this blend, 50% of the coffee is decaffeinated, using our Colombian Sugar Cane Decaf. The other half is our Direct Trade Nicaraguan La Bastilla. A delicious coffee with less of the caffeine for those of you that don't want to go all the way.
The Nicaraguan Jinotega estate is located in the midst of a mountainous natural reserve where all cherries are handpicked according to the microclimates of each individual farm, to maximise their potential. With the Teach a Man to Fish charity, we fund three children through the on-site technical college of La Bastilla, providing them the skills to move into tourism, animal husbandry and farming. The Colombian Sugar cane decaffeinated is a unique decaffeination process using natural sugar cane, preserving complex flavour profiles without compromising smoothness. La Serranía Decaf is a Natural EA Decaf Coffee, processed at the Descafecol plant in Manizales. The decaffeination process at this plant uses ethyl acetate derived 100% from sugar cane mixed with mountain water, together removing 99.7% of the caffeine present. The beauty of the Natural EA process is that it helps preserve most of the original flavours of the coffee while adding fruity notes and some complexity to the cup. It has a soft acidity and a long aftertaste, it's definitely not your regular decaf!

Why Wogan?
Sustainable and ethical
We've made it this generation's mission to put sustainability at the forefront. We’ve pledged to be Carbon Neutral by 2030 and are well on our way to getting there. LDPE4 recyclable bags, a Roastery powered entirely by solar energy, and a hell of a lot more.
our story
We, at Wogan Coffee, have been lovingly hand-roasting speciality, ethical, sustainable and traceable coffees since 1970. In our third generation, and a wholly independent family company, you can find us rooted in Bristol; the same city as when Mr Wogan established the business over fifty years ago. Laura and James, grandchildren of the bowler hatted gentleman, now have the ropes firmly in their grasp; James as our resident Q Grader in the Bristol Roastery Headquarters, and Laura in London.
