Our Lapsang Souchong is from the Fujian province and produced in the month of August, consisting of a blend of teas from villages in the north of Fujian. Smoked Black Tea, or Lapsang Souchong, is derived from a process of smoke exposure in smoking sheds at origin and usually from pine wood fires. Once confined to Chinas Fujian province and discovered in the 16th century, it is now enjoyed across the globe. After a travelling army decided to spend the night in the tea warehouses, and in order to alleviate the smell, they smoked it over local pinewood. European traders soon developed a taste for this method, and its popularity has been growing ever since.
