Our Assam tea is TGFOP1 2nd Flush tea from Tezpur & Gogra.
A black tea named after the region of its production, Assam in India, which lies along the Brahmaputra River—an area called the Brahmaputra Valley in northeast India, bordering Bangladesh and Myanmar. Most Assam is grown at or near sea level, in a warm, wet climate, and is known for its body, briskness, malty flavour, and strong, bright colour. It is the weather conditions and terrain that contribute to the distinct malty flavor.
Assam teas, or blends containing Assam, are often sold as “breakfast” teas. Black teas are more heavily oxidized than other types of tea, like green or white. Black tea contains polyphenols including catechins, flavonoids, and tannins. Polyphenols are plant-based chemicals that may provide health benefits.
