We couldn’t be more thrilled to be supplying newly opened Abuelo, Covent Garden, with our hand roasted speciality espresso and filter coffees. On the menu is our Colombian La Laguna (Cencoic Co-Operative La Laguna Siberia Reserva Excelso EP), Kenya AA (Kiamaina Dormans AA Plus, Nyeri Country) and Swiss Water Decaf (Cafetalera Capucas Co-Operative, San Pedro de Copan, Honduras) taking front stage for espressos made on the ever-beautiful Slayer Machine. You’ll find our Cafe Femenino available for filter.

A truly incredible family run cafe/restaurant, fresh out of Sydney, Australia, that makes you feel immediately at home and welcome (particularly when their dog Annie is there to greet you).

“Our journey began in 1987 with five of Sydney and Melbourne’s best cafes and restaurants, now in 2018 we are coming to London for the first time.  We are bringing with us a modern Antipodean-meets-South American menu, designed to reflect our Australian x Argentinian background and features fresh, organic, uncomplicated food for all day dining – the kind of food we eat and want to eat, just proper good stuff. The name ‘Abuelo’ was inspired by Alberto de la Vega, the father/grandfather of the de la Vega family. With barely a word of English, Abuelo was a warm presence in our very first restaurants. Despite being a joiner/carpenter by trade, every week he baked cakes for our bakery from recipes in Women’s Weekly magazine (especially the Australian classics) that were our most popular sellers. Once again this homely grandparent style of bakery will operate on the new London site. Alberto also hand crafted timberjoinery for our first restaurant in Sydney, which remained on that site for over 20 years. In honour of this, Abuelo Covent Garden will heavily feature unique timber joinery pieces constructed from Australian NSW Spotted Gum.”
